NCAA DII National Player of the Year and Hartlepool United Striker Lorne Bickley joins SRUSA


SRUSA is excited to announce that former NCAA DII National Player of the Year and current Hartlepool United Striker, Lorne Bickley, joins the teams as a Scout for SRUSA.

Lorne Bickley joins the SRUSA team as a scout for the UK after a highly decorated collegiate career i the US. Most notably in 2019, Lorne was named as an All-American Selection, the National Player of the Year, and also led the nation in goals scored at the NCAA DII level.

Bickley, originally from St. Helier, Jersey, continues to compete at a high level after his collegiate career, as he recently secured a professional contract with National League side Hartlepool FC. His invaluable experience competing at the top level in college, as well as his transition into the pro game, makes him a fantastic addition to the highly experienced SRUSA team in the UK. Lorne's pathway is testament to the tremendous amount of talent within the US College Soccer System at all levels, and provides great inspiration for players who will look to follow in his footsteps.⁣


Here's what Lorne had to say about his new role at SRUSA;

What excites you about Joining the SRUSA team?

"The high level of professionalism and commitment within SRUSA, which exceeds clients demands excites me. The team is highly experienced in sending students athletes onto achieve amazing things in the US and I can't wait to be a part of that, as well as being able to promote, suggest and implement my own ideas that will help take SRUSA to the next level."


How was your experience in the US, and what advice would you give to others thinking of going down the College Soccer route?

"My advice to others looking to go down this pathway would be to remain dedicated, confident and open minded. The College Soccer route was everything and more of what I could have imagined, and I could not speak highly enough of it. The football was like being in a professional environment, whilst also being able to obtain a degree and make friends for life. They were the best 4 years of my life."


How do you think your experience as a College Soccer Athlete will help you in your new role as a SRUSA Scout?

"After having a successful 4 year Collegiate career, I have seen those that fail, and those that reach the top. Therefore I am excited by my new role as a Scout at SRUSA, as not only will this allow me to identify top youth talent and point them in the right direction but also I plan on using my knowledge and experience from what I have learnt and pass it on to the next generation, to give them every chance of having a successful College career."


What are your expectations upon joining the SRUSA team?


"My expectations upon joining the SRUSA team is to gain a wealth of knowledge in sending talented future student athletes to the US in order for them to become successful, whilst also challenging myself to improve along the way. I hope to be able to see myself grow in my role, along with the Company, and be part of helping SRUSA secure it's place as being the BEST US Soccer recruiting agency in the industry."
